Currently, my research group “Quasiworld Network of Northern Finland” has an opportunity to fund a mathematical researcher for 6 months (with possibility of extension depening on funding). Our research is at the interface of Analysis on Metric Spaces and Geometry, with an emphasis on quasiconformal maps, uniformization and Sobolev space techniques.
The position is intended for an early career mathematician who has completed a PhD and is capable and interested to contribute to the work of the group. Interested people may contact me with a CV and a list of publications. The applicants are advised that the funding will be through a foundation, and payed directly from the foundation. This affects benefits at the university and resources. Applications are accepted continuously until the position is filled (and this posting will be removed).
We especially invite mathematicians from Ukraine at any level to apply. The position can be used to fund for 6 moths the stay of a mathematician (or a graduate student) in University of Oulu. Your work should be relevant to the Mathematics unit at Oulu, and be in the field of mathematics. However, beyond this, we aim to be extremely flexible with the position.
You can contact me with any questions about the position. More information about my research is available on this site. Further information on our Research Unit and its work is available here (https://www.oulu.fi/en/university/faculties-and-units/faculty-science/mathematical-sciences). We have one of the top research groups in Fractal geometry in the world, which is very active and conducive to research.
